It's amazing how it feels like you've done so much more work when you're crocheting with a size Q hook than when you're using a size J, even though you've done the same number of stitches. Of course it's also amazing what a PITA the size Q hook is to work with; it's just too big and awkward and holding it for extended periods makes my hands hurt. (Okay, who's going to get the prize for being the first to take that out of context?)

Me, I'm looking for hooks with Q-sized shafts and normal sized heads...luckily, I think I may be in contact with someone to make some for me. :)

True, but at least you get to use it for less time overall than a smaller hook. Not long ago I made a basked with 8 strands and a Q-hook and it took maybe an hour, tops.
