That was a good party.  Small, but almost exactly the right size.  Good food, good wine, intelligent political conversation, lots of laughter, introducing three of my social circles to each other and having nothing explode, lots of snuggling, snazzy boots, fairy wings and tons of purple and holographic glitter,  and generally a  good time.  The folks who didn't make it out were missed, but on the whole I give this one an "A".

Now I fall over and pass out.

A few more pictures from yesterday morning's walk.

A couple more responses to the photo meme thing are forthcoming as well, once I get them downloaded from the camera.

<Insert long stream of obscenities here.>   I've been fighting with my laptop and my desktop to get them to see each other on the network so I could back up files on my laptop to the desktop (like, say, my 10 GB of iTunes files).  No luck so far;I did get them to recognize that they were in the same workgroup *once* but couldn't connect to either,  and now they don't even see each other.  I'd resigned myself to copying all this stuff over on four billion CDs, and went to get a handful of disks.  Now the laptop won't boot.

I so did not need this on a day when I was already pretty damn cranky.  I'm going to go flip off a box of kittens or something.

Laptop still won't boot up.  *sigh*  Not good.  We did however go out and get a drive enclosure, take out the laptop drive, hook it up to C.'s machine and yank all (or at least most) of my personal data off of it onto my desktop.  Time I suppose to see what Microcenter's repair rates look like.
