Today is Setting Orange, day 20 in the season of Chaos, 3270.

I live, for some value of such. I'll probably do a braindump later this evening, but for now I'll just point at the details for dinner on Sunday (Sunday SUNDAY!) the 25th. [livejournal.com profile] brian1789 graciously volunteered to organize things since I have no idea of what the options are, not being local and all. As fair warning, I will probably try to make it somewhat of an early evening myself, as I'll still be on Eastern time and will have to get up a couple of hours earlier than I normally do the next morning.

It was worth tuning in to the State of the Onion just to see that look on Ted Kennedy's face when Bush mentioned the Medicare bill. Hooboy. "Key provisions of the Patriot Act are set to expire next year" was followed by a small round of applause; looked a wee bit miffed about that, he did. Okay, I was going to stop with the commentary, but watching Ted Kennedy is just SO MUCH FUN. He's making wonderful faces. Seriously, every time they cut over to Ted he's making some other expression of, to put it mildly, disagreement. Er, when did the US healthcare system become the best in the world? How did I manage to miss that? And here goes the marriage rant and how we really need a constitutional amendment to "protect" marriage. "Every individual has dignity and value in God's sight"...even if they don't in yours, right?

And now for something completely different...

Okay, fess up: who sent me the Subversive Crossstich package? (If you've got a filter at work to keep you from looking at URLs with naughty words in them, you may want to skip that link.) :D Thank you, whoever it was.
