Today is Prickle-Prickle, day 6 in the season of Discord, 3269.

Right then. How about some good news? I discovered that one of my college roommates and her husband are living about five miles from where I currently live, and she's apparently got a very cool job thing going on. I think we're going to try to get together for coffee sometime soonish and catch up a little. Another of my old roommates and her husband apparently recently had a little boy. Also, there's a high probability that one of my LDR sweeties might be in town for a few days starting on my birthday. (Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!) Not anything earthshattering, but these things are lifting my mood, which desperately needs it since it's gray and raining on top of all the other stuff going on.

Day 18: Have found Iraq on map! Go me!

British troops waiting to attack Iraq have been told to behave like liberators rather than conquerors. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] anotheranon for posting the link to this; I've passed it along to several others.

"We go to liberate not to conquer. We will not fly our flags in their country," he said.

"We are entering Iraq to free a people and the only flag which will be flown in that ancient land is their own. Show respect for them. [...]"

And it gets better from there. Go. Read.
