Oct. 21st, 2002 01:08 amToday is Prickle-Prickle, day 2 in the season of The Aftermath, 3268.
Friday I got stuck at work until quarter to seven, causing us to be later than desired to a friend's birthday gathering. (Think I could make it from Warrenton to Silver Spring in 45 minutes, with a stop at home along the way? Nope, me neither.) Had a great time seeing folks I don't see nearly often enough, and my evening was only vaguely disturbed by the smoke from the bar and snarky people on the other end of the table.
Saturday was spent puttering around at home, sleeping way too late, and then going out to preorder a bunch of movies we're going to buy anyway (the LOTR 4 disc set, the next DBZ episodes, and "Lilo & Stitch") since it was triple points day at Suncoast. After several errands, we made our way home to watch "Grosse Pointe Blank" again; I'd forgotten how much I truly love John Cusack and that movie.
Today I went to use my discount coupon at Torrid; between that and the HT next to it, I came away with a utterly out of character skirt (for me, anyway, but I can't find it on their site yet), a pair of fuzzy kitty ears which have caused my cat to run around with bigtail all night long for some reason, and a tshirt which I shall need to bring to APC9: "The only thing better than a cute boyfriend is two cute boyfriends!". Mm, retail therapy, followed by "The Transporter". Good: opening car chase that was at least as good as "Ronin"; lots of opportunity to drool over Jason Statham's upper body. Bad: "acting". Stick with seeing it for blowing stuff up and car chases, and it's all good. =)
I've promised someone a mix CD of stuff that I like, which I've been working on for a week or so, on and off. I sat down the other night to set up a playlist to burn, and discovered that without even being halfway through the stuff I want to pass along it's at three hours. So, dear, you might be getting an entire Time-Life collection instead of just a single CD. ;) I suppose if I was smart, I'd go to bed now while I'm on an upswing and I might almost get seven hours of sleep, right?
