Sep. 29th, 2002 07:53 amToday is Boomtime, day 53 in the season of Bureaucracy, 3268.
It's 7:15 am and I've been awake for an hour already, how wrong is that? My body is apparently used to getting 6 hours of sleep a night, so after going to bed a bit before midnight last night I guess it was time to get up at 6:15 am. I'll regret this later, I know it. I think I'll take the opportunity to nap later in the afternoon while lasagne is baking, and the opportunity to go to the grocery store when it opens at 8 and avoid the Sunday afternoon shopping frenzy.
Had a nice afternoon yesterday, which I spent at the MD Rennaissance Festival with some friends. Wore the new garb, v. cute. ;) (Despite what the pictures tell me, I thought I looked okay at any rate :-P) Remarkably refrained from spending money on anything other than entrance and a little bit of food, despite a vast array of pretty, shiny things from which to choose. I was a good girl this time. We were there a lot longer than I was expecting though, I think we were there for almost 7 hours. Right after the last Baebes show, while waiting for C. to get his CD autographed, the allergies started kicking in and my eyes watered up. Luckily I'd taken lots of vitamin C that day so I think it held off longer than it might've, and I also had an antihistamine with me. Said antihistamine however made me fall asleep in the car on the way home for almost the entire trip around the Beltway. I woke up to hear C. and the other occupant of the car (I'm not sure how he feels about being referenced in my journal so I'll err on the side of caution for now) geeking about GPS. Get home, get unlaced and take a nice, deep breath, have a bit of dinner and another antihistamine and then go upstairs to read a bit more of "Cordelia's Honor" until passing out. Somewhere in there I also got a phone call that was a bit disturbing, but on which I probably won't elaborate too much here.
Today I'm making lasagne and feeding myself, C.,
curiousangel and possibly one of C.'s friends; I went to sleep before I could get the definitive answer from him about whether she was coming over or not since he was still on the phone when I went to bed. Some housecleaning, some laundry and general domesticity is on the schedule for today I think. Oh yeah, and a nap.
