I'm a doofus. I spent all day yesterday fighting with web server access issues, only to discover this morning that the way I thought would be the biggest PITA ended up taking me a minute and a half as opposed to the 5 hours I spent yesterday. Gotta do things the hard way, of course. At least I learned something, and it gave me a good excuse to go back in and brush up on mod_rewrite and SetEnvIf. So I suppose it wasn't totally pointless. All I have to say though is "D'oh!!!!"
Spent a good chunk of last night watching bits of Tenchi Universe (C. managed to score the entire subbed series on VHS for a total of $40 at Suncost) and having a nice little chat. I'm still feeling a little off-kilter, but it's less pronounced than it was earlier this week. electriccat decides to come down that weekend, in which case I'll reschedule; hanging out with her will help get the head back on straight too). This can't be a midlife crisis yet, I don't have a little red sports car and a young girlfriend. ;) I also got a visual from a friend that involved a sock monkey careening around the room, hanging from a tie attached to a ceiling fan after seeing a Spiderman preview. I think that's going to be my "make myself happy" mental image, as for some reason I find it absolutely hysterical. Sock monkeys are funny in their own right, but sock monkeys spinning on ceiling fans is even better.
