Nov. 22nd, 2001 10:23 pmThings to be thankful for this year.
- My friends both here and offline. I'm continually reminded that they are all intelligent, witty, caring, wonderful people who are immense fun to be around.
- My partners, whom I love and who love me, even though sometimes it's rough going. Thank you, D., T., C. and M.
- My family. As I get older, I realize that my mother was right about one day being glad that I have a brother and sister (and now nieces and nephews too). I must find a way to get back down to Memphis sometime soon to meet the latest additions to the family.
- My boss, who has encouraged me to stretch my brain and learn new things and is probably one of the loudest voices in my cheering section.
- My pets, who keep my tiny bits of maternal instinct in check. ;)
- While I'm not in the greatest shape financially right now because of the job market, I am doing okay. I really need to keep close tabs on my spending, but I am not in danger of losing my house or defaulting on my loans quite yet. And I've had the last year and a half to allow myself to work essentially when I felt like it and on things I wanted to do. That to me was worth a little bit of stress now. I also have a mostly-good feeling about this job I've been interviewing for.
- I am thankful that no one I know personally was lost in either the WTC or the Pentagon.
- I am thankful that I have managed to mostly keep myself at worst only skirting the edges of crippling depression and have remained mostly functional thanks to the miracles of supplements and someone who will kick my ass if I don't take them.
