Sep. 21st, 2001 12:17 pm"Office of Homeland Security" makes me twitch. I think there's something specifically about the use of the word "homeland" that does it, for some reason it makes me uncomfortable.
But it was a good speech, for the Shrub. He came off as much more presidential than he has been, but still he's not this century's first great orator by any means. It's terroR, not terra. (Wait, he's declaring war on land? Sna?) I don't necessarily agree with some (er, a lot) of what he says, and I'm not sure how Muslims are going to take to him telling them who's a blasphemer. I think the "you're with us, or with the terrorists" was over the top, and I'd have had a lot more respect for him if he hadn't gone on and on about the evils of the Taliban. AH! He compared his opponent to the Nazis. Godwin! Godwin!
