Augh! Nothing quite like discovering that despite thinking that you'd removed procmail filtering from your mailbox, you actually hadn't...and look, there's 750 messages you weren't aware you'd gotten, dating back to mid-December! So I just scrubbed all references to procmail out of my entire home directory and it seems to be dumping everything in my inbox as desired again. *sigh* Hopefully anyone who sent me email that I didn't reply to will resend, as I just did a mass-delete (mostly WOMBAT mail, which was odd because some of that list ended up in my inbox and not with the rest in the potentialspam folder).

I might have to delurk again on alt.poly, as it's so wonderful to hear so many other people say that they despise talking on the phone too. *grin*

Had a nice, quiet, relaxing weekend at home. I think I picked a good year to not be able to afford Arisia. Stayed home, watched the snow, slept in. My boss decided that since it was up to her whether or not I got paid for tomorrow (I haven't been there long enough yet for any of the benefits to kick in), she'd go ahead and pay me. I'm going to go in for a few hours though and just take an afternoon off sometime later. Work good. Work leads to money. Money very good. If I make money, that means that I can buy this when it's available!

ROFL! Yes, you need to earn money in order to buy that! (giggle)

Another occasional alt.poly poster? Under this name?

I haven't actually managed to post to alt.poly in several years, I've just been reading and lurking. Now that I've found a server that will let me post again, I may get around to delurking (for some value of) soon.

Plans are now officially in the works for a local alt.poly get-together. That Chris guy who's having all the trouble with his wife (you're reading the group, right?) is fairly close to the area, and would like to meet some kind and reasonable polyfolk. We'll probably have a sort of a potluck at our place, which is in Howard County (between Baltimore and DC). It would definitely count as "some value" of delurking. :-)

(grin) true, it is much more motivating than "I need to earn money in order to pay down [credit card]" or the like. And it is a great stuffed parrot... I wonder if they have a Holy Hand Grenade shaped like a reliquary.

But if you delurk only by going to Rivka's event, those of us in other places will be none the wiser.

I am still curious about your calendar, BTW.

Oh, sorry. It was in a response to one of your earlier entries... until shortly before this job started, you used to preface each entry with a calendar entry. ("16th day of [unusual], in [never-heard-of]")

Actually, that got me started browsing your LJ -- I was looking at Rivka's (who I know from alt.poly, thanks!) friends page and became intrigued by your numbering system :-). And continued watching your job search struggles, which resonated because it seems like half of my friends (out here in Silicon Valley) are looking for work.

Hey, I didn't know you were a wombat! When did this happen? And why do you never talk to us? *sniff* ;-)
