Ask the f-list: restaurant.com

Have any of y'all used gift certificates from Restaurant.com? Are there any gotchas to be aware of, other than the (in some cases relatively high) minimum purchases?

You don't know me (and I don't know you), but I somehow stumbled across this question, so I figured I'd answer.

I used one of them at a local restaurant with no trouble. Other than the minimum purchases, there really isn't anything to watch out for. There are only a limited number of coupons for any given store per month, but once you have successfully purchased one it is yours.

I've used them and its all about reading the fine print. Each restaurant handles them differently. Some have day restrictions, minimum purchases, black out dates and entree minimums. I've also heard about some places dissolving their contracts with the sit and the certificates are no longer honored. So basically..

* Make sure the restaurant you're interested in still participating
* Read their specific fine print
