I think all my technical knowledge is slowly leaking out of my brain. It took me way too long to figure out why a user's permissions on FTP'd files were so restrictive, or rather where it was I had to do the fiddling around to make things right. Seeing as how I was the one who edited that file in the first place, you'd think that's the kind of thing I'd remember. Between that and the silly mistakes I made with the Apache config file, I'm feeling mighty dim. Somewhere between 25 and 40 watts these last couple of days. Ugh. Must...stretch...brain.

This is partly why I left system administration. Take it from me, it only gets worse. At least in programming (which I know how to do but am not employed in currently) you can be respected for being absent minded. There, to be absent-minded is sometimes seen as being smart, very involved in what you are doing. Unfortunately, if you've got to please users on a daily basis you can't be absent minded. But you'll be okay....no?
