Air travel sucks

I am not going to fly from Dulles to Orlando via Pittsburgh. In what universe does that make sense? I suppose it doesn't matter much anyway, because USAir has no flights leaving Friday at a time that doesn't cut into the conference or put me back too late for the GBS show that night.

Why does JetBlue not fly into Orlando from Dulles? If I want to get there from here, I have to go to Newark first. :P

It's looking like AirTran and a sprint from Dulles to Foggy Bottom on Friday.

Oh, and cars suck too: someone just stopped by to tell me that my car is repeatedly locking and unlocking itself for no apparent reason. I guess this means it's time to call the mechanic down the street and see if they have some time to look at it.

Yes, I'm cranky today. Again. Allergies are kicking my ass, even with a bit of rain to clean things out a little. I'll feel human again sometime around, oh, July.

I see you are running into the same problem I am for flights. I can get there no problem, but getting back is a PITA.

Oh yes your car!!!!! Have you had the other stuff fixed yet?

Allergies are kicking my ass
ditto, to the point of being dizzy.

1 stop isn't bad as long as I don't have to kill hours between

5-6 is ok (not optimal hey I'm greedy when it comes to time :)

No, they haven't fixed the other stuff yet.
Am I going to have to bring my tools with me :)

How far is BWI?
Now are you looking at flight and hotel separetly or as a package?
Your not going to make me sleep under the porch again are you :P

Oh right how could I forget about the MR2. Well then while you all are out having fun I can tear into your car and fix it (sort of)
"where did this go again?"

Not sure how the local guy is but if you are thinking of having all the work done at once it will probably be a day or 2.

And the $$$ will probably be high, let me know and I can help out as a part of your b-day gift.

I will kick your ass.
You really know how to turn a guy on.

I am not going to make you drive an hour to get me unless I can get the flight for a lots less than the $800+ I've been looking at.
If I left on Thus it would be an 8 or 9pm flight so that would put me in that area around 10-11:30. An hour drive at the time would be nuts (unless I did the driving). If you and C. have plans for Fri. then I can leave on Fri. night to show up later or something instead of messing things up by showing up on Thurs.

Not unless you piss me off. ;)
Ugh don't say that, I am good at pissing people off as you well know.

As for the car I know all to well how Jap. cars are to work on and I totally agree let someone that does it all day long have the fun. If I had a few days I'd consider it.

Replacing the alt only took an afternoon... but it was an afternoon filled with "Fuck, you mean I have to take *that* off too?!?!?!"

[identity profile] wolfy.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
That's normal, you should know that from the MR2's. Though I have never work on one of those so I can't really say. The GF's Maxima is a hemorhroid on wheels.

[identity profile] nminusone.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually had to do the alt in my 93 MR2 the same week, some kind of weird virus in the air I guess, but it was a lot easier than on the Mazda. The first gen MR2s are even easier to work on, though of course none of them compare to a big ol' American boat from the early 70s, with room to go camping under the hood.

Oddly my 95 Dodge ram has a bunch or room under the hood. It has a 318 and everything seems to be accessible (except the distributor). I can actually get in the engine compartment.

big ol' American boat from the early 70s

Heh have one of those which just happens to be a 1970.

[identity profile] wolfy.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Are the MR2's front, mid, or rear engine?

[identity profile] nminusone.livejournal.com 2006-04-04 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that looks a lot like the boats I remember from my childhood. Engine bays with an echo!

The MR2 is mid-engine. The name actually stands for Mid-engine, Rear wheel drive, 2 seater.

I do the Baltimore-Orlando thing, so I can't help you there.

Let me know if you've got free time while in Orlando.

I am not going to fly from Dulles to Orlando via Pittsburgh. In what universe does that make sense?

Sounds like the USAirniverse to me. All your flights are belong through PIT!

[identity profile] wolfy.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll just get up at the crack of dawn

Bwwwaaaahhhhhahhhahahahahaha *snort*

[identity profile] nminusone.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 09:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Charlotte is their other hub, but they like to route through PIT a lot too.

I can take you to and from work no problem, that's got to be less traffic than trying to get there at ungodly early a.m. Are they sure they can finish it by Friday? Cos if not you won't get it back til Monday, or do they work Saturdays too?

[identity profile] wolfy.livejournal.com 2006-04-03 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
that'll wait 'til after next payday

I can make that today :)

but the question is would that put me under the porch?
