I found a link to this reading friendsfriends. 46 acre farm with pond and views of Mt. Shasta. $392,000. I don't like the house itself at all, but...
46 acres. $392,000.
My next door neighbor's 2200-ish sf *townhouse* listed at $499,000, and the one three doors down sold for over half a million.
Yeah, I know: lower salaries, lower cost of living, lack of job market, all that. But still...
Sheesh.
Would be a good place to go retire and raise my goats, ya think? (I'd have plenty of room to get them a trampoline.)

I grew up 4 houses down from "Shasta View Drive," and we could see Shasta from the roof. I love that region, I was conceived there. (Haven't clicked through the link.) Mom was raised up there. It's at least as conservative as anything in West Virginia.

Here... my tiny 1100sf fixer-upper in Mountain View appraises for $740K, the houses next door and across the street sold for more... I couldn't afford to live here if I didn't already have a place.

Hey - if I sold my flat in London I could afford that!
