The brightly-colored (if not actually bright) one should be easy to see from the rescue chopper... or at least his towel will be. If he has the foresight to fasten it tightly enough, maybe his body *will* eventually be found?

I am starting to get really pissed off about this.

Lots of people, like my friend [livejournal.com profile] scyllacat, are STUCK in NO because they don't have cars...and by the time the mayor gave the order to evacuate, ALL of the train and bus stations were closed down and there were no rental cars to be found. Notwithstanding that some people just don't have the fucking gas money.

Yet all the news stories imply that people are "choosing" to stay.

There IS no evacuation plan for people who don't have their own vehicles. The Superdome IS the plan. This is classism in action, people....if you don't have enough money to have a car, or don't drive for whatever reason, you can just die.
