Since the time for me to get off my butt and make a final decision is drawing very near, who all's going to be at alt.polycon? (Even if I don't end up going to the con, I'd probably be able to drive up for dinner on Saturday or something.)

Alt.polycon is a convention for readers of the Usenet group alt.polyamory. Partners and friends are welcome too; you don't *have* to read the group yourself, but it definitely intended as a Usenet group-oriented gathering rather than a general "poly conference". APC 12 is happening right up the road (essentially) in Baltimore later this month.

I haven't read the group in eons -- Brian does -- and I'm going because it tends to attract such an interesting group of people, some of whom I already know. I had such a blast at APC 9 I've been wanting to go to another one since then.

Ah. Well, while I am poly, I do not follow the Usenet group. Nor do I have plans to travel to the East Coast any time soon. Darn. I was hoping it might be an opportunity to meet you. :(

Oh no, please don't; I figured that anyone who wanted to tell me they were going to be there could let me know themselves. =) And I've been off the newsgroup for so long that I suspect I won't recognize have the names anyway.=)

Heh, one of these days I'd love to go to one of those, but probably when I'm in a relationship again. I've rarely seen a poly community warm to a currently single man.

Well, alt.polycon is not so much a general "poly conference" as it is a gathering of people who read alt.polyamory and their partners/friends. From my own observation and experience, your current relationship status doesn't matter much in the group (and the con), the important thing is that you have a brain and not be afraid to use it. =)

I'm just sort of on the inactive poly roster... as far as being poly is. I figure if I get involved with someone who is poly, or poly inclined, then it's something I may get involved with.

I can be in a poly or mono relationship, either way so long as I'm happy.

Nope, it was in Boston a couple of years ago. (Arisia is in Boston in January; annoyingly enough they moved the dates of Arisia and it now conflicts with APC.) This year it's in Baltimore in two weeks. I don't have the URL handy, unfortunately.
