I have a slight problem. See, there are going to be a ton of people at Arisia that I really want to see, and I haven't been to the con in several years. Yeah, Boston in January, I know. The problem is that they've moved Arisia (insert grumble here about moving the dates, with extra bonus not-very-complimentary epithet) so that it now conflicts with alt.polycon 12 in Baltimore, where there are also going to be a good number of people I want to see. I can't do both, not while keeping what remains of my sanity at any rate. I'd rather not do neither. Do I flip a coin?

(This of course assumes that it's not completely irrelevant by virtue of needing to be on a plane to the left coast on the 22nd.)

If you flip a coin, make sure it has "alt.polycon" written on both sides. ;-)

*grin* Alt.polycon also has the added benefit of being close, although I'd still want to stay in the hotel. Plus, apc's con chair is cuter. ;)

If you are going to the annual business meeting out here, why would you need to leave that soon (Saturday)?

There's nothing inherently scary about Arisia, I'm afraid I don't really know what you mean by that.

If I go to Sunnyvale (which I keep typing everywhere as "Sunnydale", a pop culture reference which you won't get but is easily figured out with a quick Google search), I'll need to be there Sunday afternoon. If I wanted to have any social time with anyone, I'd probably want to be there on Saturday as I won't really have any time during the week.

I guess I don't understand cons, really. And "sunnydale" appears to be a school: http://www.sunnydale.org/ . Why you'd care about a Christian academy... (scratches head).

Seriously, avoiding Boston in January is a major plus. Will there be people at Arisia that won't be in Boston on samer weekends?

Thing is, you barely have to leave the hotel at Arisia. Just go around the corner to Finale for dessert. ;)

And yes, there are people who will be at Arisia who aren't normally in Boston that I haven't seen in several years.

I think it would be nifty to see you, and I will be at Arisia though I will be very busy as Filk Czar, running a couple of game tournaments, and holding a party Saturday night. Meep! That said, there will be an Arisia 2K6.

If you or people you know were planning on coming to Arisia based on the WETA folks, they bailed. We have a different AGoH.

What's wrong with Boston in January? I've been there around New Year's more than once.

Other than it's cold, wet, and getting around is even more fun than normal. ;-)
