I've now got a ticket to see the Washington Opera's production of Die Walküre, with Plácido Domingo singing Siegmund, next Tuesday night. I splurged on an Upper Tier Prime seat, which turned out to be just one row behind the next price category up; should be a good seat.

Heh. No, the entire Ring Cycle is very long, but this is just a single one of the operas. =)

i had strongly considered a ticket to that opera. decided not to only because i have seen it live before, and i had originally expected to see the opera with my father. i dabbled with the idea of bringing lisa, but she's never seen an opera before, and i don't think this is the right opera to start her off with. it's a bit odd what with the incest and all.

I've never seen any Wagner live before, plus it was a chance to hear Placido Domingo singing live (I didn't see him slated to sing anything in the spring season), so I splurged. Yeah, I don't know that I'd start off with this opera either. The Virginia Opera's doing "The Magic Flute" later in the month, maybe that would be a better start?

Heh. =) As I was buying tickets I thought "I bet Nicola would properly appreciate this (plus I bet I could get him into a tux with some eyelash fluttering)." ;) This is actually not the opera I wanted to see most this season, but I didn't see Domingo singing anything else this year in my glance over the schedule and figured it was worth it to see him perform.
