Hm. I think this guy is a complete dick for selling the information (Gotta love "Hell, fer four bux, I'll tell you who has crushes on any name you type in!" *ptui*), and there's no way that I am going to reward that sort of unethical behavior with cash, sorry. That said, if you happen to be one of those folks who claim to have a crush on me, sure you don't want to drop me an email and tell me? *grin*

I don't even bother reading most privacy policies these days, I work under the assumption that anything I post online anywhere could conceivably be made public at some time. I wish it wasn't the case, but I'm often enough disappointed in humanity that I tend to not be as surprised as I'd like to be when this kind of thing happens. In the case of this particular meme, I wouldn't have been quite as upset if the people I confessed to a crush on had been the only ones able to see it; I *am* annoyed that anyone who has $4 and someone else's username can get at the information though, for the same reason that I might agree to provide information to a single entity and then be upset when they sell that information to other places. Probably I'm not being terribly consistent, but then I've never claimed to be. =)
