Today is Setting Orange, day 49 in the season of Confusion, 3269.
Your current weight 172.0 lbs
Weight change since your last recorded weight -0.5 lbs
Total weight change to date -6.0 lbs
I'm surprised I lost at all, considering all the crap I ate on the Boston trip and the fact I haven't been paying attention to my points much this week. I lost enough weight that last week they dropped me to the next lower points allotment (I was at the bottom of the weight range for my original points allotment, so it didn't take very long for me to fall out of that one); for some reason it's a lot easier to hit a target of 25 points per day when that's in the middle of my range than it is when 25 is the very upper limit of my range. Oof. Did I mention how salad (I can have an entire zero-point meal that way) gets pretty old pretty fast?
Saturday night C. and I went out to dinner and to see "Pirates of the Caribbean"; no spoilers other than to say that Johnny Depp is the swishiest of swishbucklers in this movie and I loved it. ;) It was a lot of fun. What was not so fun was that during dinner the restaurant had put on a live Jimmy Buffet album (I don't mind him in small doses, and the words to "Margaritaville" are still taking up space in my brain that could be used more productively) and he completely and absolutely butchers one of my favorite songs ever: CS&N's "Southern Cross". Oh dear $DEITY, was it horrible; there are some mumbled spots where it sounds like he doesn't quite know the words and he doesn't quite hit a lot of the notes. *twitch*
curiousangel and I went to the National Zoo yesterday, as it was a gorgeous day and much too nice to be inside. We wandered around for several hours, and then since it was conveniently right across the street from the Metro stop, I introduced him to Lebanese Taverna and the fabulousness of mezze. It wasn't quite the same without K. and an additional 10 people, but it was still really nice. Good food, good wine, good company, good air conditioning, and fabulous service.

As I said to Brian, it's kind of like tapas - an assortment of appetizer-size dishes. We had the tasting platter and an order of really yummy sausage, along with a glass of wine each. Wasn't planning on having that be dinner, but it was very filling.

We encountered an individual who had gotten quite a bit of ink done, and the bit he was most proud of was a flaming skull on the back of his neck, with a word in elaborate Gothic lettering arching over it.
The word was "PYSCHO". :)
