Today is Setting Orange, day 22 in the season of Discord, 3168.

Today is also the day in which I thank $DEITY that my local circle of friends is blessedly drama-free 99.99999% of the time. Yet another reason I enjoy staying right where I am, thankyouverymuch. I've been much less manic the last day or two, which is sort of good. I liked the feeling, even though I wasn't getting too much done. I must remember to try this "being happy" thing again sometime soon.

I'm having quite the time catching up with an old friend who seems to be in possession of the other half of my brain. Today's sage advice from him: "Maybe you should start a cult." It's a thought. I didn't say it was a good thought, but it is definitely a thought. I've introduced him to the Oysterband, now to convert him into a Boiled in Lead fan. Heh, see me talk about him in the third person even though I know damn well he's reading this (so go out and find a copy of "Antler Dance" already). ;) I've also been having an enjoyable time starting up a new friendship with someone who is part of the incredible shrinking universe. ("Wait, you were Foo's housemate? I know Foo!" *giggle*) All of this is contributing to a relatively good mood for me, especially combined with Monday's hijinks which are still leaving lingering good feelings. No, I'm still not telling what they were. :)

Not nearly as unusual an occurrence as it should be, alas. My internal clock heartily resists attempts to make it synch up with all the morning people who want me to be at work at the crack of dawn (i.e. 9:30). ;)

Tell it, sister. You know, within 2 weeks of getting laid off I'd reverted to a completely nocturnal schedule. My veneer of civilization is very thin in that regard. It's like you get me out of the vaguely civilizing (yes, I know, stop laughing) influence of an office to go to and I get all Lord of the Flies. :-}

Me too! Actually at my first web job, my boss didn't care when I came to work so long as everything got done by deadlines; I'd routinely come in to the office at 3. We'd joke that we had 24 hour coverage because one coworker would come in at 6 am and stay til 3 or 4, and I'd come in between 2 and 4 and stay til 6 am. =) That's also the kind of thing that had me follow that particular boss to a couple other companies and work for her for six-plus years.

See, the whole problem is that while we were sleeping, the morning people got up and took things over. ;)
