San Diego, here I come. Woohoo! There are certainly worse places to spend a week in March. I hope I manage to eventually get to the Albuquerque meeting as I've never been there either.

up in Socorro. You Don't Want To Do That.

Re: Socorro. Near Socorro (I think), is Roswell NM. Not suggesting you go there (or not go there - I've never been so I don't know what it's like), just providing your UFO/weirdness geography note for the day.

Re: San Diego, I think they decided that they wanted someone from the technical staff to go along with someone from the administrative side. Since the subcommittee that I'm working with is having a pretty major meeting at this one, I guess it made sense for me to go. If I have to go spend a week where it's sunny and warm (not that I'll get to see the sun for at least three days), I guess I can go along with that. *big dramatic sigh* ;)

Yea, I was reading an article about
some of the stuff found in Roswell,
and they talked about weather balloons
sent up by a guy named CB Moore from
New Mexico Tech.

I graduated from NMIMT in 1987
with a physics degree. One of the
professors there was CB Moore. He did
atmospheric research. :)

The NM meeting is actually in May, and I doubt that I'll end up going to that one. There's at least a semi-convincing reason that I get to go to San Diego.
