Comment editing is coming for paid users. (link seen in a f-locked post) I'm relieved to see that the plan is that comments which have been replied to can't be edited, which is one of the big problems I could see with the whole "allow comments to be modified" thing.

yeah, same here, though i try to keep it to one resubmission.

but i am only expecting that to to get worse with comment editing -- because either they'll make it so edited comments don't get resent (bad idea), which means there's an outdated comment sitting in my email, or they'll make it so it will be resent, which means i'll now be getting many more comments emailed because more people will edit theirs than resubmit.

I think it was stated that anyone who would've been notified about the comment will also get notified about the edited version. So yeah, potentially lots of copies of almost-but-not-quite-the-same comment in your inbox.
