First, grab a box of tissues and keep it handy. Then, read this story about the people who deliver the news of a Marine's death to their families. I can only imagine how difficult having that job must be.

Ain't gonna read it.

I suppose part of the reason I won't read it is 1: I have read such before, 2: I have been honor guard at funerals, though for those who were, as the Bible says, "full of years," and the grief at those was attenuated, but the bond of service was still there.

3: I can imagine what that job would be like, and I don't like to thinkn about it. Oddly enough, there are times I think of volunteering for it.

Go figure.
