Amazon.co.uk kindly provided me with my copy of "Shaun of the Dead" today. Time to find out if the region-free hack really works on my DVD player.

Note to self: no matter how perfectly the song goes with the ambient conditions, don't listen to Jeff Buckley's cover of "Hallelujah" seven times in a row while driving home again. Once, maybe twice, would've been just fine. Try counteracting it with something light and poppy, like "Brimful of Asha".

If nothing else, use iDVD to rip it on to a laptop, then re-burn it on a disc readable by your player...?

Use iDVD? How exactly would I do that? =) Not to mention that I don't have nearly enough free space on my laptop to do such a thing, I don't even have enough space right now to run defrag.

There should be no need to rip it, as the whole reason I bought this particular player (we already had the DVD recorder) was that it had an easy region-free hack. Haven't tried it yet myself, didn't feel like hooking the player up last night, but there've been plenty of confirmations that it works elsewhere.
