I appear to have mostly-unintentionally given away the secret that the way to my heart is through my ribcage Italian. Sheesh, you people are awfully quick on the uptake. (I'm looking at you, winterbadger. )
and, see, i thought i was going to try learning arabic or farsi. i can see that italian just leapt to the top of my list. :) well, after four years of latin, it can't be that hard, right?
spero soltanto che quella lingua sarĂ il sentiero al suo cuore, donna bella
Hey, two languages I also contemplated picking up; well, contemplated studying, anyway, since I don't think it's so easy to just "pick up" Arabic. And people still haven't seen us in the same room at the same time. ;) L'italiano è molto facile a paragone di quelle lingue.
Well, work would really (just because it's what my bioss has work for right now) prefer it if I learned Mandarin. But I'd like to develop a deep familiarity with a culture and its history, religion, politics, etc. And both Arabic and Farsi (or maybe Hindi) strike me as being linked to cultures I'd like to study *and* that the US government is going to be in conflict (prefereably just diplomatic and economic) with for the foreseeable future.
