Today is Prickle-Prickle, day 2 in the season of The Aftermath, 3268.

Friday I got stuck at work until quarter to seven, causing us to be later than desired to a friend's birthday gathering. (Think I could make it from Warrenton to Silver Spring in 45 minutes, with a stop at home along the way? Nope, me neither.) Had a great time seeing folks I don't see nearly often enough, and my evening was only vaguely disturbed by the smoke from the bar and snarky people on the other end of the table.

Saturday was spent puttering around at home, sleeping way too late, and then going out to preorder a bunch of movies we're going to buy anyway (the LOTR 4 disc set, the next DBZ episodes, and "Lilo & Stitch") since it was triple points day at Suncoast. After several errands, we made our way home to watch "Grosse Pointe Blank" again; I'd forgotten how much I truly love John Cusack and that movie.

Today I went to use my discount coupon at Torrid; between that and the HT next to it, I came away with a utterly out of character skirt (for me, anyway, but I can't find it on their site yet), a pair of fuzzy kitty ears which have caused my cat to run around with bigtail all night long for some reason, and a tshirt which I shall need to bring to APC9: "The only thing better than a cute boyfriend is two cute boyfriends!". Mm, retail therapy, followed by "The Transporter". Good: opening car chase that was at least as good as "Ronin"; lots of opportunity to drool over Jason Statham's upper body. Bad: "acting". Stick with seeing it for blowing stuff up and car chases, and it's all good. =)

I've promised someone a mix CD of stuff that I like, which I've been working on for a week or so, on and off. I sat down the other night to set up a playlist to burn, and discovered that without even being halfway through the stuff I want to pass along it's at three hours. So, dear, you might be getting an entire Time-Life collection instead of just a single CD. ;) I suppose if I was smart, I'd go to bed now while I'm on an upswing and I might almost get seven hours of sleep, right?

Holy cow! That reminds me that ages and ages and ages ago I was gonna make you a mix tape. I think it might have been... well... umm... I think it's close to a decade ago. I wonder if I still have the list I was going to put on it. I wonder if I have it all in MP3's. Hmmm... I'll have to go look sometime soon :)

"Grosse Point Blank" has to be one of my favorites. The relationship between Ackroyd's character and Cusack's cracks me up.

"I'm gonna blow your fuckin' head off/ I'm gonna blow your fuckin' head off..."

I think that was my favorite part of the whole movie, although there are so MANY great parts that it's hard to pick just one.

One of mine:

"This new organization... will there be meetings?"

"Of course!"

"No meetings." BLAM BLAM BLAM

Oh, I think I need to get that shirt. I know there's a Torrid in Cincinnati, maybe I should road trip there to check the store out :)

Where's a good place to order the new LOTR?

I also need to figure out where to get Bab5.
