I was grousing a little bit about the idea that my sister in Memphis was going to get more snow than we were. (Six inches in Bartlett (!!) yesterday, when I checked the local news website.)

Then I looked at today's version of Weather Underground:
Tonight
Snow. Additional snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Brisk with lows in the mid 20s. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 90 percent.

Monday
Snow likely. Additional snow accumulation around an inch possible. Total snow accumulation 7 to 10 inches. Brisk with highs around 30. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of snow 70 percent.

I needed to go buy milk today anyway, snow or no snow. Guess I'll add cocoa, soup, rock salt, and birdseed to the shopping list. (Obviously, those are intended for different uses.)

I have a big pot of mushroom-barley soup on the stove, a six pack of Hornsby's Amber Draft cider, footie pajamas, a cat curled up on my lap, the new Chris Moore book, and a stack of movies. It can be Snowpocalypse time any time now, kthx. (Although it seems like those of us west of I-95 aren't getting a snow day after all; Capital Weather Gang just dropped the estimates for west and northwest of the Beltway to 1-3" and I hear DC lifted the snow emergency. I want my snow day, dammit.)
