Random things I was thinking about today #38: ever notice how many people who would never dream of using the phrase "jewed down" are okay with claiming they've been "gypped"? (The former was not something I ever really heard growing up, although the latter was a term nearly everyone I knew (myself included) used.)

I've been sort of examining my own prejudices recently, but I'm too tired at the moment to really noodle about it here. Maybe later, after more sleep.

Today is Sweetmorn, day 17 in the season of Bureaucracy, 3269.

Things to get done today:

1. Buy a frame for the gorgeous print I bought from [livejournal.com profile] indyansel, since I was mistaken about the size of the frame I already had sitting around the house. (D., I love the mat colors, and my cow orkers all adored the print. They want to know if you have a web site. ;) )
2. Sort out books to keep and books to take to McKay's.
3. Make reservations for Thursday night here.
4. Catch up on the three assignments due for my class.
5. A little bit of housecleaning.
6. Send email to my aunt and let her know when we're likely to be in Chico on Friday.
7. Send horribly overdue email to two or three other people.
8. Get outside and not waste a perfect, sunny day.

(The guinea pig's name, by the way, seems to be Nibbler. Just like the original Nibbler, he's small, cute, has an enormous appetite, and is probably much smarter than he appears at first glance. I don't think he excretes dark matter though, luckily for us.)

There aren't many better ways to get homework done than sitting out on your balcony watching the sunset with a cold bottle of pumpkin ale, a laptop and a wireless card. I suppose that means I should actually start my homework now. ;)
