I didn't cry until last night, when they broadcast the Congressional prayer service and one lone voice sang "Amazing Grace". I'm not particularly Christian or even religious at all these days, but still... It was one of my father's favorite hymns, and one that was sung at his funeral. How many other funerals and memorial services is it going to be sung at in the coming weeks?

The hotel I stayed in last time I was in New York (to go see the opera) is apparently one of the buildings likely to come down.

I have to get out of town this weekend. Away from CNN and MSNBC and all the other constant news sources. I'm overloaded, frankly. I need to be outside, where maybe for a few hours I can not constantly hear about things.
