Today is Prickle-Prickle, day 16 in the season of Discord, 3168.

Why do people have to suck? I got out to my car today after running an errand to find two large red scrapes filled with red paint and a scratch running down the passenger side of my car from the front door to the tail lights where someone had keyed it. At least it's not as deep as the last time someone keyed my car, which ended up rusting in spots. Joy. This may come out with some buffing, but it's the principle of the thing. Why the hell does anyone feel the need to intentionally damage someone else's property like that? Really, what is it about keying someone's car that makes you feel good? It's not like I parked diagonally across the last two parking spaces like I've seen some folks in brand-new SUVs or expensive sports cars do or that I scratched someone else's car. I don't know that it happened today, it may be old, but again it's not really the point. I'm not having the best of days today, and discovering that once again my car's been vandalized didn't help at all. Sometimes I wonder if taking the pink/blue/purple triangles sticker off would make a difference; both incidents of keying took place after I put that and the combined rainbow flag and leather pride sticker on my car, but I realize that it's probably just coincidence. At least in my naive desire to continue to think that people aren't as miserable as all that, I will keep telling myself that it's a coincidence. *sigh* I think I might go indulge in a tiny bit of retail therapy to lighten the mood before going out for chick night and chocolate and Zim. (Oh, and they're apparently putting a Hot Topic in the Fair Oaks Mall and a Torrid in Montgomery Mall, speaking of retail therapy. La la la la la I'm not hearing that.)

Ick. Welcome to a battleground in the "culture wars". Wave the flag, draw incoming fire. Or it *could* be coincidence... in any case, this certainly bites -- just after you'd gotten the windshield fixed, too!

Chocolate and Zim... that sounds like a good idea. I may do likewise, tonight's my turn to stay home :-). May your mood lighten!

It so sucks that people violated your car.

But a Torrid closer than Anapolis sounds yummy.

That's unbelieveable. Why didn't you mention it last night? That sucks :(

I canot figure out why people key cars - its so deliberate, why are they that hateful? At the very least, aren't they afraid of getting caught?
